YS jagan Government today started phase two works of the Somasila Project. Chief Minister Jagan did the honors via the Virtual method. On this occasion, the Chief Minister spoke about the Polavaram Project ever since the Central Government tried to evade its responsibility.
“Our Government knows the value of water and projects. We will complete Polavaram Project by the Kharif season of 2022. We will finish six main projects along with Polavaram Project, the Chief Minister said. Interestingly, he did not utter a single word about the Central Government trying to ditch the state on the Polavaram issue.
The Chief Minister earlier wrote a letter to the Prime Minister asking him to take a sympathetic view on the issue. Even as the issue is not resolved, the State Government managed to convince the center to release Rs 2,234.288 crore pending funds towards the project for now.
The funds are likely to reach the State in about a week. The file has reached NABARD, which will raise the money and forward it to the PPA via the National Water Development Agency.
